Teaching Approach
As a teacher, my primary goal is to instill a love for creating music. My students learn to read music, play with proper technique, feel rhythm, and understand music theory. These are the foundational skills, and my instruction goes much deeper. I also provide instruction on music composition, arrangement, improvisation, playing by ear, and sound methodology for how to “jam” with others in various styles. I believe that cultivating creativity and finding one’s own artistic voice at the piano is just as important as developing technical proficiency. In Sunshine Ray Piano Studio we do both, and much more! I meet your child where they are and move them forward.
